About Us

Happy holidays and more at out Pet Care Resort in Swanland

Want your pet’s to enjoy a holiday while you do too? Our ongoing aim is to provide the best pet care facilities and service Hull, East Yorkshire and the UK offers. You can find out all about us below.

We understand it can be a concern leaving your pets in someone else’s care for the first time.  Pets who come from a safe and secure family home require the same care when being left with someone new.  We work hard every day to ensure your pets have the best care and attention here at our family run business.

We’ve been caring for the regions since we opened in February 1993. Over the years we have cared for thousands of different dogs, cats and small animals. Just like us, they have different personalities and individual needs. Through our experience, we have gained the knowledge in giving the very best of care to pets young and old. We understand that it’s the people who matter in caring for your family member. With this always in mind, we employ the very best qualified and caring team.  Find out more about us below.

Why we started…

We first opened our doors to Swanland and the local area in February 1993. Our family wanted to continue in the dedicated care of animals. We wanted to provide a better service than was available to our dogs Sherry and Wanda. Tony and Mandy invested a great deal of time and energy creating large and comfortable accommodation for dogs. Accommodation for cats and a small reception area. Our first guest all those years ago was a Golden Retriever called Branston.

Who we support

We support a range of local Schools, College’s, Universities and charitable organisations. We also provide work placements to students wanting to further their knowledge in animal care. Experience is the most important part of working with animals.  Gaining first hand knowledge helps the next generation of pet care professionals have empathy and understanding of animal needs.

Dog Groomer (Trainee)

I've only recently started in March 2017, taking a Dog Grooming Assistant position. I've got a huge desire to have a career as a dog groomer and I've moved on to train as such. I have 2 dogs, a German Shepherd and a Border Collie. I have loved animals all my life and after leaving school I studied a 2 year course in Animal Management at Bishop Burton College, which based around companion animals. I then moved on to a Dog Grooming qualification. I love my position here and can't wait to meet you and welcome your dog for their groom.

Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management

My role is to ensure all the dogs staying with us who enjoy our extra activities have the safest and most enjoyable time making new friends in our play groups. I also work hard to ensure all the pets in our care have a great time away from their family too. I've worked through to my current position from an apprenticeship in animal management. I have 2 rescue dogs, a cat, 6 snakes, 7 lizards and 3 tarantula's! Phew!

Already absolutely love this place! We booked our French Bulldog puppy for two day care sessions and both times he came home super happy and definitely ready for a sleep! Our pup, Tobie, was only just old enough to be going out and everyone at Home from Home Pet Care was reassuring and gave us every ounce of confidence that he will have the time of his life.Tia BennettDog Care
